2008 Report to the Community:
The 2008 Subscription Program:
As a subscriber to the Lake Harmony Ambulance, the plan will pay any unpaid balance not covered by your medical insurance for emergency services rendered by the Lake Harmony Ambulance. Deductible and Co-Insurance will be written off through the subscription program.
Non-Subscribers are fully responsible for the entire amount of the ambulance bill which is typically at least $500.00. Even though you may have medical insurance, not all insurance companies cover the full payment of the service charge. Without a subscription to the ambulance, this would make the patient responsible for the remaining amount.
Individual Subscriptions provide coverage for the individual subscriber only at a $35.00 annual subscription fee.
Family Subscriptions at $60.00 also cover family members residing full-time at the subscriber's address, plus all visitors if the ambulance is dispatched to the subscriber's address.
If you are intrested in becoming a subscriber to the ambulance corp and have not recieved a subscription request, please contact our station and someone can help you.
Board Development:
In order to broaden community involvement, your Board of Directors is looking to expand by appointing one or two additional Directors. If you have the qualifications, interest and time, please step forward.
We are also recruiting Assistant Officers to help spread the workload. An additional factor in this decision is that the LHRS Bylaws provide that no officer shall serve more than two consecutive terms. Mandated changes must occur in the January 2009 elections. We must prepare now. Are you the person we are looking for? Just call any Board member or station for information.
Operations Report:
Call response is our number one mission. LHRS handled 709 calls in 2007, an increase of 63% from 2006. 91% of 911 dispatches were handled vs. 71% in 2006. Our goal is 100% response.
In addition, we achieved dozens of incremental improvements in Operations. We have updated our infection control plans, Police background checks are now done on new employees, volunteer recruiting has continued with some progress. Policies, procedures and forms have been totally re-worked. We've upgraded employee time keeping systems to include a biometric time clock that works on an employees finger print. Donated employee lockers have been installed and vending machines have been installed also for the crews.
Additionally community and crew safety is a targeted goal! Video camera's have been installed in the front cab area's of the ambulance's. Uniforms now have reflective lettering along with crews being issued reflective vests. New light and siren response policies have been implemented and crew medical training is up.
Kidder Twp's ambulance is on the job to serve you.
